OUT OF THE FRAME, CINEMA BEYOND BOUNDARIES

Out of the Frame – Marrakech Short Film Days is an independent initiative by Arab Media Lab, created in collaboration with Rooftop Films Marrakech. The festival is dedicated to emerging filmmakers and mixed-media artists who push against established forms and imagine new ways of making and experiencing cinema.

We focus on short films as spaces of freedom and experimentation—where personal visions, hybrid formats, and unconventional narratives can exist without constraint. From Morocco and beyond, Out of the Frame brings together fresh cinematic voices that challenge the frame, the language, and the rules of storytelling.

More than a festival, Out of the Frame is a meeting point. Screenings open into conversations, ideas circulate freely, and cinema becomes a shared practice rather than a fixed product. We believe in a cinema that is curious, open, and in constant transformation—one that grows through dialogue, risk, and collective imagination.

Out of the Frame stands for an independent, accessible, and future-looking cinema—where creation comes first, and new voices are always welcome.
